Bamboo installations for WIP Alt. Fest Bangalore 2024 at Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru!

Like an evolving creature navigating the play of stillness and progression, Chaaya’r Dwaar is encoded with the rhythm of cyclical growth. Intricately crafted out of bamboo in warped tubular forms, the installation acts as a living presence while shifting contours responding to light, movement and perception. Bamboo installations for WIP Alt. Fest Bangalore 2024 at Vidhana Soudha, Bengaluru!

Completed in 1956, Vidhan Soudha, located adjacent to Cubbon Park and the High Court is a highly visible and significant historical as well as contemporary landmark in Bengaluru, housing the state legislature. Positioning this massive intricately crafted bamboo installation at the site’s entrance marks an intervention in the seamless situatedness of the palace like structure and the chaotic city for which the decisions are taken inside the impermeable space. Resembling large ears reiterating the fundamental act of listening, it acts as a metaphorical bridge, linking the monumental Vidhan Soudha with the public sphere and embodying the principle of active listening between those inside and outside its walls, fostering dialogue and mutual understanding. BLR HUBBA is a step forward in this endeavor.
